UNUSUAL PRESENTATION OF OSTEOMYELITIS

Septic osteomyelitis in children is sometimes challenging for physicians to diagnose. The diagnosis often unclear at the initial evaluation. presentation may be nonspecific. Children older than 3 months of age with hematogenous usually present acutely fever, constitutional symptoms (eg, irritability, decreased appetite or activity). Close monitoring clinical course essential establishing diagnosis.
